About Krista

Krista Bokhari is a proud wife, mother of three, and longtime advocate for families, neighborhoods, and common-sense solutions in Charlotte. With a background in community leadership and a heart for service, Krista is running to represent District 6 on Charlotte City Council—because she knows what’s at stake when one party has unchecked power and no one is left to speak up for the people.

Krista has been deeply involved in her children’s schools, neighborhood initiatives, and civic conversations that affect working families across South Charlotte. She brings the real-world perspective of a mother raising kids in the city—someone who understands the importance of public safety, responsible growth, and honest government.

Now, she’s stepping up to restore balance and accountability at City Hall, and to be the strong, principled voice District 6 deserves.

My Platform

Public Safety & Crime

Neighborhood Protection

Public Safety & Crime

  • Fully support CMPD with resources, pay, and leadership they can trust.
  • Collaborate with the District Attorney, General Assembly, and magistrates to address repeat offenders.
  • Restore respect for law enforcement and public safety.

Fiscal Responsibility

Neighborhood Protection

Public Safety & Crime

  • Prioritize core services: public safety, infrastructure, and community well-being.
  • No more blank checks for pet projects and payoffs.
  • End wasteful spending and demand transparency in every tax dollar.

Neighborhood Protection

Neighborhood Protection

Smart Infrastructure & Transit

  • Oppose reckless density that destroys neighborhood character.
  • Demand infrastructure improvements and storm water damage assurance before new developments are approved.
  • Work closely with neighborhood leaders to protect property values and community identity.

Smart Infrastructure & Transit

Smart Infrastructure & Transit

Smart Infrastructure & Transit

  • Build a District 6 Infrastructure Pipeline to track, analyze, and advocate for local needs.
  • Ensure any citywide transit plan serves all of Charlotte, not just special interests.
  • Push for traffic calming, sidewalk repair, and safe school zones.

Accountable Government

Smart Infrastructure & Transit

Accountable Government

  • Shine a light on backroom deals and unethical conduct.
  • Serve as the voice of Republicans, independents, and common-sense Democrats tired of the chaos.
  • Bring integrity, honesty, and courage to the Council chamber.

My Commitment to you

Having the opportunity to work with neighborhoods across District 6 has given me the experience to form my own path forward as a leader. My commitment as your District representative is to:

Create a District 6 Infrastructure Dashboard
A public, transparent tool to identify and track local needs roads, sidewalks, stormwater, and more.

Partner with SPAN & SouthPark Leaders
Prevent SouthPark from becoming the next Eastland Mall by building strategic alliances to preserve it as a thriving economic hub.

Bring Tax Dollars Back to D6
Ensure District 6 gets its fair share of funding and services in return for what it contributes to the city’s tax base.

Build a Safety Coalition
Unite CMPD, the District Attorney, state legislators, and community leaders to fix the broken criminal justice pipeline.

Listen and Lead
Hold regular community forums and attend neighborhood meetings because leadership starts with face to face interactions and listening.

I would love to connect with you and your neighborhood!

Please reach out of you would like to host a meet & greet or would like me to be at your next neighborhood gathering. I love connecting with the community!

Legislation & Budget: Enact local ordinances (like nondiscrimination policies or zoning changes), approve the city’s budget, set tax rates.

Appointments: Hire key officials (e.g. City Manager Marcus Jones) who oversee operations and departmental leadership.

Policy Oversight: Create or revise policies addressing public safety, housing equity, transit development, and economic growth.

Public Engagement & Oversight: Hold hearings, invite citizen feedback, serve on Councils/commissions, investigate and solve municipal issues.

Why balance is SO important?

Why balance is SO important?

Currently the council is dangerously unbalanced with 10 of the members being Democrats and only 2 being Republican.

The  District 6 seat is one of the  two seats standing between zero guardrails, accountability or transparency.
